Best ergonomic mouse 2026 — by hand size

Before you buy: four rules
- Size beats brand. A premium vertical in the wrong size is worse than a basic one in your size. Measure your hand first.
- 57-60° is the useful range. Less tilt barely corrects anything; the full handshake position (90°) exists but demands a lot of adjustment.
- Wireless for clean desks, wired for zero latency. For office work modern wireless is imperceptible; for competitive gaming it may matter.
- The keyboard matters as much as the mouse. If you type for hours with closed shoulders, a split does more for your wrists than any mouse.

How do I measure my hand size?
With a ruler: from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger. Under 17 cm is size S, 17-19 cm M, over 19 cm L. Twenty seconds that prevent a wrong purchase.
Vertical, ergonomic or trackball mouse?
Vertical (57-60°) if you have forearm/wrist discomfort: it's the most neutral posture. Trackball if the pain comes from moving your arm or you're short on space. Classic ergonomic if you just want more comfort without changing your grip.
How long does it take to get used to a vertical mouse?
Between two days and two weeks of normal use. Fine precision (design work, gaming) takes a bit longer; for office work the adjustment is quick.
I'm left-handed — what are my options?

Will the mouse take away my wrist pain?
